Kylie Minogue fans recreate the star's nude birthday snap and reveal how she impacted their live

KYLIE Minogue proved last week that she is as sexy as ever at 50 – as she stripped to her birthday suit to pose with a guitar.

The shoot was a hit with fans – and none more so than the four women of similar age to Aussie pop princess Kylie. Here, they recreate her pose and tell us about Kylie’s impact on their lives.

Julie Bryan, stylist, Grimsby

STYLIST Julie Bryan, a gran of three, from Grimsby, Lincs, has lost 7st in two years, motivated in part by Kylie. She says:

"When Kylie fought breast cancer, she inspired me to have regular mammograms.

"My husband and I split at the same time as Kylie split from fiance Joshua Sasse and reading about her pain made me realise that if she could get through it, so could I.

"Then three years ago, at almost 18st and size 24, I set about changing my body, inspired by Kylie’s ageless look.

"I hit the gym, ate healthily, went blonde and had fillers and Botox.

"I launched a new career styling people.

"I promised to spend my fifties doing the unexpected – and posing like this shows everyone the new-look Julie.

"It’s a great celebration of hitting the big 5-0 and 9st 7lb."

Hayley Garbutt, care worker, North Yorkshire

CARE worker Hayley Garbutt has four grandchildren and lives in Hunmanby, North Yorks, with husband Maurice, 53, and daughter Lucy, 25. She says:

"I’ve found fitness in the last decade and now my aim is to have the perfect butt like Kylie.

"When I work out, I listen to her songs to keep focused. Kylie has been a constant in my life since I was a little girl.

"My sister Vanessa and I learned all the words and routines to her songs. We were hooked on Neighbours and I’ve followed the ups and downs in her private life.

"When I saw the guitar photo, I thought: 'Good for her for posing nude.' She hasn’t aged a day.

"It was thrilling to be photographed in that pose. Being 50 doesn’t mean you have to cover up. Kylie has shown us we can all be amazing at 50."

Alida Young, stay-at-home mum, Kent

STAY-at-home mum Alida Young, who lives in Beckenham, Kent, with her two daughters Olivia, 15, and Sophie, 12, turns 50 this month and is planning to have a whole year of celebrations. She says:

"I was going to keep quiet about turning 50 and not draw attention to it. It seemed such a big number that I felt quite daunted about it.

"But 50 isn’t old nowadays and I don’t feel any different. So I’m planning to treat myself every month of this year, like dinner at The Shard in London, a trip to Rome with my daughters and a girlie holiday in Croatia.

"I never thought I’d start the year off posing nude!

"But it’s a bit of fun and is surprisingly empowering. I imagine Kylie felt the same. She’s so gorgeous, with an amazing figure.

"And judging by her smile, it seems she had just as much fun as I did doing this picture.

"There’s no reason to turn into a frump when you hit 50. I love to wear a bikini on the beach.

"I may not look like a supermodel in it but I never want to become that woman who thinks: 'I have to wear a one-piece now that I’m a certain age.'

"Like Kylie, I’m very grateful for the lovely life I have.

"I have great friends, two wonderful daughters and a lovely boyfriend. I’m very content with my world. I imagine some people might frown upon me doing this but that’s the great thing about getting older – you care less about what others think."

Lisa Walsh, nursing assistant, North Yorkshire

NURSING assistant Lisa Walsh, a widow from near Scarborough, North Yorks, calls posing like Kylie was the most “terrifying, liberating” thing she has done. She says:

"Whenever I’ve felt down, I pop a Kylie song on and it cheers me up. We have parties with the elderly people I work with and often put on some Kylie. They all enjoy dancing or tapping their toes to her music.

"Like Kylie, I don’t have any children. But just like her, I find enjoyment from being an auntie to my three nieces and two nephews.

"There’s something about Kylie that makes her seem like she could be your best mate. She isn’t afraid to talk about things we can all relate to. Turning 50 makes you reassess life.

"I’ve taken up running and have vowed to get fitter and try new things.

"Doing this photoshoot, as nerve-wracking as it was, ticks a major box on my 50 To Do list.

"I spend my life either in a uniform or leggings and T-shirt, so I felt very pampered getting my hair and make-up done.

"I can’t remember the last time someone saw me naked. I had to keep thinking: “If Kylie can, I can.”

"I hung on to that guitar like my life depended on it! I was terrified everyone would see my boobs.

"I’m sure some people will criticise me but I don’t care. I’ve got a cool picture to remind me I was once just like Kylie Minogue.
