Gemma Collins hilariously mistakes Freddie Flintoff for Peter Crouch at star-studded showbiz bash
GEMMA Collins was left-faced as she accidentally mixed up sports stars Freddie Flintoff and Peter Crouch.
The Towie star bumped into cricketer Freddie at the ITV Summer Party but thought it was footballer Peter Crouch – much to Freddie’s amusement.
Fortunately the whole hilarious incident was caught on camera and League of Their Own star Freddie couldn’t resist telling his followers all about it.
Uploading a snap of Gemma clasping a hand over her mouth as they chatted, he wrote: "No I'm not Peter Crouch, but lovely to meet you"
In the background of the shot, Gemma’s co-star Chloe Lewis can be seen laughing at the amusing exchange.
While Freddie and Peter are both sports stars and are both known for being very tall – the similarities stop there.
But the mix-up has clearly tickled Freddie and his fans, who took to Instagram to comment on his post.
One person joined in the joke, writing: "Flintoff or Barlow? YOU decide."
While another wrote: "Peter crouch though 🙈🙈 she's hilarious 😂 I ❤️ Freddie."
Others remarked, rather cruelly, that he should have asked if she was the Honey Monster - referencing her eye-catching outfit.
The orange number, with huge shoulder pads and interesting ruching became somewhat of a talking point online.
