Marlana VanHoose, Blind Teenager, Wows with National Anthem Performance
We typically publish performances of the national anthem in order to make fun of them.
Such as the time Minnie Driver botched some lyrics or the time Aaron Lewis also botched some lyrics.
But that certainly is not the case here.
Prior to Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, Marlana VanHoose put on one of the more inspiring versions of this song you’ll ever hear and see.
A 19-year old Kentucky native, VanHoose suffers from cerebral palsy and was born with Cytomegalovirus. She went blind several weeks after birth and was not expected to live past 12 months.
But VanHoose took center court at Quicken Loans Arena and helped put the impending sporting event in perspective via an incredible rendition of America’s anthem.
Prepare for some chills as you watch it here.
