A MUM-OF-THREE has told how she was horrified to discover her partner had a baby with another woman at the same time she was pregnant - but now she’s best mates with his mistress.

Kat Leszkowska, 31, from Norwich, already had three kids with Gary Atkins, but became suspicious when he began working late and became disinterested in her and their children in late 2014.

Fearing he'd been cheating on her, she confronted her suspected love rival, and the women discovered he'd been playing them both.

Having both ditched Gary, now the pair are best mates and regularly meet up with their kids, who share a dad.

Kat told how she met Gary while working in her local kebab shop. He was one of their regulars and worked as a delivery driver.

She said: "He wasn’t much to look at but I loved how he was so shy and timid. He was so different to most of the men coming in the take-away."

Within a few weeks the couple moved in together and two years later, Kat gave birth to their first daughter, Jasmine.

"Gary was overjoyed when I found out I was pregnant and when Jasmine was born he was great," Kat recalled.

"He helped care for her, even did the nappy changes - he was a great dad."

But when Jasmine was about a year-and-a-half old, Kat felt something changed.

She recalled: "He wasn’t interested in her anymore. He stopped helping out, and didn’t want to spend time with her - or me.

"He was working overtime and seemed to be out all the time."

The couple got through their rough patch and a year-and-a-half later, Kiana was born, followed by Aliyah two years later in 2014.

Kat said: "We had three beautiful daughters and I was so happy. But then, seven weeks after Aliyah was born, something changed in Gary.

"By now he was working as a flooring fitter. He was going into work earlier and coming home late.

Sometimes he said he was working night shifts too as overtime.

"He became distant and was picking arguments so he could go back out again. He was always on his phone."

Smelling a rat, Kat confronted Gary and asked if he was seeing someone else, which he denied.

But she couldn't shift the feeling that something was wrong - and became even more suspicious when a mum she'd always chatted to on the school run, called Sam, suddenly couldn't look her in the eye.

One night, Kat told how a friend called her saying Sam had put an update on Facebook that she was in a relationship with Gary.

"She'd tagged Gary in it, but I hadn't seen it," Kat recalled. "I scrolled through my Facebook and realised he’d blocked me."

When he got home Kat said she showed him the screenshot and demanded to know what was going on, but Gary told her Sam was "crazy".

"He said she was obsessed with him and that she'd made it up," said Kat.

"I asked why he'd blocked me and he said it was because of what she was doing.

"I was sure he was lying but I had no proof. And after that he kept on and on until I did believe him."

Kat kept her distance from Sam, but months later she received a message from her asking if they were still together.

The following week, Sam texted her to say that Gary had been with her that night - when he'd said he was "working late".

Shortly afterwards, Kat heard that Sam was pregnant - and she claimed it was Gary's.

"I was so angry," Kat admitted. "But a few weeks later I had a surprise of my own. I was pregnant again!

"I told Gary, but this time he wasn’t so excited. It broke my heart.

"I was about to bring another child into the world and I was so upset because I felt like I would be doing this alone.

"Sam messaged me when she gave birth, but I wanted nothing to do with her - or Gary."

"He protested that he was just working but I knew he wasn’t.

"By the time I went into labour with Miley I felt so bad that I wouldn’t let him come to the birth.

"Afterwards I told him it was over and I wanted him to move out. He refused to begin with but finally he went.

"He was still messaging me and would turn up at the house begging for us to be a family again.

"I knew I would let him back in if I didn’t do something, so I decided to speak to Sam."

The two women met and Sam revealed she'd been seeing Gary for two-and-a-half years and that he was the father of her son.

She even showed Kat a photo of her and Gary together, and of him posing with her baby boy.

Realising they'd both been played, the pair compared dates and worked out he'd been with Sam when he said he was doing overtime.

"He’d taken her to the same restaurant as me," said Kat. "He’d be there with me and the girls one week and with her the following week.

"He even took us both to the same fish and chip shop. It was unbelievable.

"He said the same things to us, everything was the same. And to say that I was crazy and imagining it!"

The following day Sam visited Kat with her son Aston, who was just three months older than Miley.

Kat said: "It was wonderful to see him and Miley together. It was weird but felt like the right thing to do - they have the same dad.

"Now me and Sam have become really good friends. She comes around most days and she’s great company.

"Our children get on so well now and all of them are so much happier than before.

"I just wish I’d tried to speak with her before instead of believing Gary’s warnings. But at least the truth came out in the end."

Sam Orford, 26, from Norwich, said: “I’m so angry with him. He told me he was single and that him and Kat had split up.

"I wanted to check with Kat, but Gary warned me she was obsessed and wouldn’t accept it was over.

"He’d been going between the two of us and making sure we never spoke. But we did in the end and the truth came out."

Gary Atkins was told the contents of the story but said he wanted nothing to do with it.
