NYPD, FDNY Fight During Charity Hockey Game: Watch!

The New York Police Department and Fire Department of New York are comprised of some of the bravest people you’ll ever meet … but even heroes are human.

Case in point? This bench-clearing brawl that broke out over the weekend at the annual NYPD-FDNY hockey came at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island:

"New York’s Finest" and "New York’s Bravest" will never be mistaken for "New York’s Classiest" after this melee … but at least it made for good entertainment.

The fight set Twitter, YouTube and Instagram aflame with photos and videos of the violence, as you can imagine when cops and firemen pummel one another.

Things got heated with the score tied 3-3, then devolved into an epic brouhaha that eventually cleared up, with the NYPD surging to an 8-5 victory after that.

Somehow we’re guessing the 2014 game will be remembered not for the cops snapping a five-year losing skid, but for both sides wailing on each other like goons.

Just a hunch.
