Watch heart-stopping moment python lunges for Steve Irwin's son's face - and he dodges bite by inche
STEVE Irwin's son had a very close encounter with a python in a heart-stopping video.
The clip shows 19-year-old Robert Irwin getting up close and personal with the reptile.
As the Australian conservationist could be seen on the grass locking eyes with the snake, he said: "Look at the size of him and..."
At that moment Robert sprung up as the python lunged towards him.
He missed the dangerous snakes bite by inches as the person holding the camera could be heard gasping.
Robert then said: "Jeez that gets the heart rate up, he missed me by that much but he is probably worked up because he's on the road.

Robert, who was recently announced as the new host of I'm A Celebrity Australia, was attempting to move the snake from the roadside.
The zoo keeper said: "Now this is going to be real tricky here for him not to bite me."
Meanwhile, Robert publicly debuted his relationship with his girlfriend Rorie Buckey in August.
