Runaway Golf Cart Plows into Winning H.S. Coach at Cowboys Stadium: VIDEO
EZGO indeed …
A runaway golf cart plowed into a cluster of unsuspecting bystanders on Saturday, injuring seven of them at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The incident occurred shortly after Spring Dekaney High School won the Class 5A Division II state championship in a 34-14 victory over Cibolo Steele.
Winning coach Willie Amendola was being interviewed near the Cowboys midfield star logo when the wayward vehicle hit him from behind, causing him to land in the passenger side of the still moving cart. He was attempting to steer the vehicle when a field worker managed to jump on board and kill the engine.
Arlington Fire Lt. Darrel Whitfield reported that medical staff treated several of the injured for minor injuries and one man was taken to an area hospital for leg abrasions.
A fluorescent orange field marker that was being loaded onto the back of the cart went airborne and became lodged on the accelerator, causing the unattended utility vehicle to begin racing across the field.
The video quickly picked up several million hits on YouTube. Check it out below:
