Shoppers call out Starbucks for its new festive cups begging the chain to stop hoarding popular coll

STARBUCKS customers are begging the company to change how it sells specialty items after many were unable to snag a popular cup.

Although we're still weeks away from Thanksgiving, Starbucks is already rolling out its holiday collection.

The festive line of drinks and merchandise hit stores on November 2, and customers were lined up outside stores to get their hands on it.

One of the hottest items available was a mug from the Starbucks and Stanley collaboration. It is bright red with the Stanley logo on the side, as seen in a TkTok from barista Lauren (@chimmminnie).

Stanley tumblers and mugs are made of stainless steel and are known to keep beverages hot or cold all day long.

The special Starbucks cup has a price tag of $49.95.

The brand's collaboration was highly anticipated by shoppers, who lined up outside stores before they opened to try and get a mug.

Much to their disappointment, some stores didn't even have the cups.

Someone claiming to work at a Starbucks wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that: "There were people lining up at our door before we opened this morning for new Starbucks Stanley cups that we didn’t even get, they didn’t come in lmao."

"Starbucks x Stanley cups are not at the Orem target and I'm devasted I got out of bed," wrote another person who couldn't find a cup.

Meanwhile, other stores that did have cups sold them all to one person, leaving shoppers with a bad taste in their mouths.

"Starbucks probably should of put a purchase limit on the holiday Stanley cups… sold out in 5 minutes by one person… now being sold on Mercari for $200+ how sad," wrote one person.

Another person said: "Starbucks that's b******t that you didn't limit those red stanley cups to 1 per customer...now they are all on eBay for $150."

Other people noted that the stores only had a handful of mugs available.

"Super sad that so many ppl wait for the release of the Holiday Starbucks/Stanley RED Collab cups and yet stores only received two or less to sell to the public," wrote one customer.

Another X user claimed that there were only 26,000 cups made and each store got about 4.

WHAT'S ON THE MENU

Starbucks' holiday menu has two new drinks; the Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai and the Oleato Gingerbread Oatmilk Latte.

The oatmilk chai can be ordered iced or hot and has notes of gingerbread, a blend of chai spices, and creamy oatmilk.

The Oleato Gingerbread Oatmilk Latte can be found at certain Starbucks locations that serve Oleato.

The special-edition latte "features Starbucks Blonde Espresso combined with warm notes of gingerbread and steamed oatmilk, infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil and finished with a subtle dusting of bright ginger and citrus flavors."

Returning drinks include the:

  • Peppermint Mocha
  • Caramel Brulée Latte
  • Chestnut Praline Latte
  • Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte
