Things were hot and cold on The Flash Season 1 Episode 4.

First, Barry was greeted by the warm presence of Felicity Smoak, as this beloved Arrow character made her way over to Central City.

But then events took a turn for the chilly, thanks to the debut of Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.

Looking back at the way her romance with Oliver fizzled on Arrow Season 3 Episode 1, it makes sense that Felicity would check to see if there was still a spark between her and Barry.

In the end, the answer was clearly yes. But both also acknowledged that they pined for someone else, ending things with a kiss that seemingly won’t lead to more.

Yay for Iris/Barry shipper, we suppose.

Overall, it was VERY cool to see Cisco flip out over The Arrow and to see two superhero universes talk openly. Felicity passed along some helpful hacks, Dr. Wells appears to have figured out Arrow’s identity and The CW has done an ideal job of merging two worlds.

Following an opening three weeks of one-off bad guys, it was a pleasure to be introduced to Captain Cold. He’ll be sticking around for awhile. And, based on the tag at the end, he’ll be bringing Heat Wave (played by Dominic Purcell) along with him on Episode 10.

We were also treated to some nice moments with Joe, as he explained how hard it will be for him and his daughter to look at each other if anything bad should ever happen to her boyfriend, Eddie.

Joe now accepts the relationship, especially after Eddie saved his life, but he’s concerned about it for many reasons going forward.

We close with a couple Felicity gems:

• I want to see it. And by it, i mean your speed. In case you thought I was talking about something else. Which I wasn’t.
• If i had a nickel for every time the Arrow told me to back off, I’d be as rich as Oliver Queen. Who I mention only because he’s the richest person I know. Or used to be.
